2.TALENT DISCUSSION-2.2Balance

Rank 1
Starlight Wrath
Ranks: 5
Reduces the cast time of your Wrath and Starfire spells by 0.1 seconds per rank.
Core first step for Balance builds. Take all five points in this.
Nature's Grasp
Ranks: 1
Rank 1 While active, any time an enemy strikes the caster, they have a 35% chance to become afflicted by Entangling Roots (Rank 1). Only usable outdoors. 1 charge. Lasts 45 seconds.
This is great for solo play and PVP. (Useless for group play and raids.) Don’t take more than one point in it (skip Improved Nature's Grasp).
Rank 2 (Prereq 5 points in Balance)
Focused Starlight

Ranks: 2
Increases the critical strike chance of your Wrath and Starfire spells by 2%.
Any talent that increases damage or crit chance must be taken.
Improved Moonfire
Ranks: 2
Increases the damage and critical strike chance of your Moonfire spell by 5% per rank.
As stated above, a must-have for a Balance build since it increases damage and critical strike.
Rank 3 (Prereq 10 points in Balance)
Brambles
Ranks: 3
Increases damage caused by your Thorns and Entangling Roots spells by 25% per rank.
You probably have the points to take this in a Balance build. However, this is easily skipped since Entangling Roots breaks so easily.
Insect Swarm
Ranks: 1
Rank 1 Instant Cast, 30 yard range
The enemy target is swarmed by insects, decreasing his chance to hit by 2% and dealing nature damage over 12 sec.
This is an instant cast dot with damage and a debuff. Useful for nearly everything a Balance druid will be doing.
Nature's Reach
Ranks: 2
Increases the range of your Balance spells and Faerie Fire (Feral) by 10% per rank.
More range is always good. The extra distance it will take a PVP player or a mob to reach you gives you more time to do more damage, crowd control it, or pop into travel form and get away.
Rank 4 (Prereq 15 points in Balance)
Vengeance
Ranks: 5
Requires: 2 points in Focused Starlight
Increases the critical strike damage of your Starfire, Moonfire, and Wrath spells by 20% per rank.
Once you get Vengeance, it’s time to invest in +critical strike gear. Now you’ll be doing great damage for your level.
Celestial Focus
Ranks: 3

Gives your Starfire spell a 5% chance per rank to stun the target for 3 seconds, and increases the chance you'll resist pushback when casting your Wrath spell by 25% per rank.
This is going to depend on your playing style. This talent is great for PVP and soloing. In groups it will be almost useless. (Hopefully in a group your tank and DPS will keep mobs off of you. If a mob is on you, a wipe is probably imminent, and this talent won’t get you out of that!)
Rank 5 (Prereq 20 points in Balance)
Nature's Grace
Ranks: 1
Prerequisite for Moonfury
All spell criticals grace you with a blessing of nature, reducing the casting time of your next non-instant spell by 0.5 seconds.
If you’ve taken the damage/crit increase talents, then this is a must-have talent. It’s great no matter what you’re doing.
Moonglow
Ranks: 3
Reduces the Mana cost of your Moonfire, Starfire, Wrath, Healing Touch, Regrowth, and Rejuvenation spells by 3% per rank.
Also a must-have talent. Mages have huge mana pools, Warlock can turn health into mana. Druids have poor mage pools, so this talent is a great help in keeping you going.
Lunar Guidance
Ranks: 3
Increases your spell damage and healing by 8% of your total intellect per rank.
As you are seeing by now, Rank 5 is like a gift to balance druids. You must take all three ranks of this talent.
Rank 6 (Prereq 25 points in Balance)
Moonfury
Ranks: 5
Requires: 1 point in Nature's Grace
Increases the damage done by your Starfire, Moonfire, and Wrath spells by 2% per rank.
More damage. You gotta have it.
Balance of Power
Ranks: 2

Increases your chance to hit with all spells and reduces the chance you'll be hit by spells by 2%.

While leveling, the plus to hit allows you to take on higher level critters and players. Once you’re level 70, the chance to avoid spells will help you own in PVP. This is a great talent to have.
Rank 7 (Prereq 30 points in Balance)
Moonkin Form
Ranks: 1
872 mana, instant cast
Transforms the Druid into Moonkin form. While in this form, the armor contribution from items is increased by 360%, attack power is increased by 150% of your level, and all party members within 30 yards have their spell critical chance increased by 5%. Melee attacks in this form have a chance on hit to regenerate mana based on attack power. The Moonkin may only cast Balance spells while shapeshifted. The act of shapeshifting frees the caster of Polymorph and movement-impairing effects.
If your healing abilities aren’t going to matter as much, the Moonkin is a great form for a druid. You’ll be tougher and add a buff to party members.
Dreamstate
Ranks: 3
Regenerate mana equal of 4% per rank of your Intellect every 5 seconds, even while casting.
This is great when you are in Moonkin form (and regular caster form as well). With a druid’s mana shortcomings, balance druids should have this talent.
Improved Faerie Fire
Ranks: 3
Your Faerie Fire spell also increases the chance the target will be hit by melee and ranged attacks by 1%
This is great for PVP and groups. It has almost no use in solo play. So going for this depends on your playstyle.
Rank 8 (Prereq 35 points in Balance)
Wrath of Cenarius
Ranks: 5
Your Starfire spell gains an additional 4% per rank and your Wrath gains an additional 2% per rank of your bonus damage effects.
For a pure balance build, this is a must-have. It can be skipped if you are playing more of a hybrid build, since you won’t be using Starfire and Wrath in some hybrid builds.
Rank 9 (Prereq 40 points in Balance)
Force of Nature

Ranks: 1
374 mana, instant cast, 30 yard range, 3 minute cooldown
Summons three treants to attack the enemy target for 30 seconds.
If you are heavy in balance, this is your crowning ability. Insect Swarm and three Treants on your enemy, and you pretty much have all your options open. This is great for everything you’re doing.
